AAN Apparate- und Anlagentechnik Nürnberg GmbH was founded in 2000. The founders of the company brought with them four decades of experience in heat engineering and vacuum engineering.

At the beginning, the company’s products were only manufactured by regional companies. However, in order to assure consistent levels of quality and prompt handling of orders, it became necessary to manufacture at the company’s own plant. This lead to the foundation of the manufacturing company AVW Apparate- Vakuum- Wärmetechnik GmbH in 2001.

In 2003, in order to attain the quality targets they had set themselves and above all to satisfy the quality requirements of the market, both companies were certified as possessing a documented quality management system complying with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
The following year, the production of vacuum units was taken over from a renowned pump company.

The HPO Approval was obtained in 2006 enabling the manufacture of products subject to the Pressure Vessels Ordinance.
In the same year, manufacturing operations began on the new premises at Schwabach.

The transfer to the new premises was made necessary by the sharp increase in the number of orders. The improved spatial conditions meant that it was possible to expand the machinery pool.
The quality management system’s switch to the new DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 standard was successfully carried out in 2009.
