In liquid coolers, the hot, fluid medium in the tubes is cooled down
by the colder surrounding air. Due to the small amount of heat exchanged
on the air side, the surface of the bare tube is increased through finning.
A unidirectional or multidirectional design is employed depending on
the flow rate and the pressure drop. Heat is dissipated by low-noise
axial ventilators.
